About

The Water Policy Innovation Hub was designed to bring together scholars and practitioners across different continents, across disciplines, and across academic experience levels in order to build capacity in studying Water Policy Innovation.

The EU has a wide range of experiences in water sector in developing practices, creating business opportunities and overcoming barriers linked to technology, regulation, public participation, financing and practical implementation. The Water Policy Innovation Hub aimed to harness this capacity to create a policy hub supporting effective dialogue between water experts and policymakers, so as to address the needs of the water community. The Hub focused on wide range of water and innovation policy challenges including governance, technology, participation, and legislation. This project provided a clear focal point for the comparative study of water policy and innovation challenges, and for the diffusion of high-quality information on water policy.

Through a set of events, academic papers, and a policy note, the Hub promoted and facilitated close interaction between university researchers, students and partners in industry, government and the community. It engaged with a cohort of researchers/stakeholders from across levels of government with an enhanced understanding of innovation in the water sector.
